Port Authority Police Officer Ken Tietjen gave his life saving others on 9/11.

Mini Horse Heroes, home to miniature therapy horses Honor and Hamlet, serve in memory of P.O.  Ken Tietjen.  The organization was started in 2001 to honor Port Authority Police Officer, Ken Tietjen, who gave his life saving others on 9/11. Our miniature therapy horses are two of the country’s smallest police horses and assist thousands of people in need each year.

From working with first responders to helping survivors of national tragedies, to comforting children who are at the end of life, these little police horses are specially trained to bring a special kind of compassion during times of extreme stress and trauma.

We provide services to New York, New Jersey, and surrounding areas, as well as all along the East Coast.

About Kenny

Kenny loved working in the community in his role as a police officer with the Port Authority Police Department in New York and as a volunteer firefighter with Belford Engine in New Jersey. He had an infectious smile and a uncontrollable urge to play practical jokes whenever possible!
